Captain Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger Captain Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger to Fly Again for US Airways Sully Has New Management Role with the Company TEMPE, Ariz.-- US Airways has announced that Captain Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger, who piloted Flight 1549 during its emergency water landing on the Hudson River in January, returned to work in a new role as a management pilot.
