Pratt & Whitney Canada Awarded 2010 Frost & Sull

Pratt & Whitney Canada Awarded 2010 Frost & Sullivan Award for Engine MRO Centre of the Year

February 04, 2010

LONGUEUIL, QUEBEC-- Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) today received Frost & Sullivan's 2010 Asia Pacific Aerospace & Defence Award for 'Engine Manufacturing, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Centre of the Year' at a ceremony held during the Singapore International Air Show. The award recognizes Pratt & Whitney Canada's outstanding performance in Southeast Asia on three levels: competition strategy, impact on value and brand positioning. Pratt & Whitney Canada is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) company.

"This honour recognizes the value we bring to our customers by delivering dependable products and support in a world-class facility," said Michel Jaffre, general manager, service centres, Asia Pacific, for Pratt & Whitney Canada (SEA) Pte Ltd. "It is a testament to the steadfast dedication and talent of our 150 employees and an unwavering commitment to our customers in the Asia-Pacific region during the past 25 years."

Frost & Sullivan praised Pratt and Whitney Canada for consistently generating a large customer base and maintaining a new parts distribution centre in Singapore, while doubling the availability of parts and decreasing delivery time to customers by more than half. In addition, the Company's ability to provide superior customer service through its Customer First Centre scored high points with the awards committee, as did its ability to leverage the Pratt & Whitney Canada brand and specialized engine capabilities to better serve customer needs in the Asia-Pacific region.

"In line with global markets' trajectory, Pratt & Whitney Canada epitomizes the concept of a robust regional footprint with an extensive global reach, leveraging its specialized engine capabilities and comprehensive after-sales support," stated Nagib Ramli, research associate for Frost & Sullivan's Asia Pacific Aerospace & Defence group.

Pratt & Whitney Canada has more than 30 owned and designated service facilities worldwide and offers the industry's most comprehensive range of support programs through its new Customer First Centre. An extensive network of field support representatives provides onsite and local technical support to customers on all major continents. Pratt & Whitney Canada also provides engine services that minimize operating costs and offer one-stop convenience.

Pratt & Whitney Canada has been present in Singapore for the last 25 years. Located in the Loyang Industrial Estate, the Company provides overhaul and repair services for PW100 engines and APS3200 auxiliary power units, as well as Mobile Repair Team (MRT) support and hot section inspections for PT6A, PT6B, PT6T, JT15D, PW150A and PW200 engines.
