Technical Leaders and Recognized Experts Selected For Lockheed Martin Fellows Honors

Orlando, FL, February 8th, 2010 -- Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] has announced the appointment of 62 world-class engineers, scientists and technologists as new members of the Lockheed Martin Technical Fellows program, including two Fellows from the Missiles and Fire Control business unit. The Lockheed Martin Fellows program recognizes the role of technical excellence and leadership in driving innovation across the corporation.

“With a mission to connect the best technical talent to our most difficult challenges, the Fellows program offers a unique opportunity to celebrate the Fellows’ technical excellence while also inspiring an esprit de corps that promotes technical achievement,” said Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Ray O Johnson, in announcing the selections.

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control appointed two new Fellows to the program: Randal Kassner, from Dallas, TX, for his work in radio frequency and infrared seeker modeling, analysis and signal processing; and Bhikhabhai Patel, from Orlando, FL, for his work in mechanical stabilization of electro-optical sensors. Additionally, Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control also reappointed four Fellows to the program, all based in Orlando, FL: John Donohue, Louis Glaros, David Rothstein and Dennis Smith.

Lockheed Martin Fellows apply high-level knowledge and expert technical capabilities and expertise to solve difficult engineering problems while ensuring flawless execution. The Fellows are selected for their significant professional contributions to Lockheed Martin’s business and provide knowledge and leadership to strategic business planning. They generate intellectual property that enhances products and technical capabilities, and also serve as mentors, helping to develop the next generation of technical talent.

The Fellows comprise an elite group – less than one percent of the technical workforce. In addition to the 62 new Fellows, Lockheed Martin has reappointed 69 Fellows to the program.
