BAE SYSTEMS PLACES FOUR MORE ATPs TO ACHIEVE FULLY CONTRACTED FLEET
February 8, 2010
Hatfield, Hertfordshire...BAE Systems Asset Management has achieved a fully contracted fleet position across its turboprop portfolio with the placement of its final four ATPs at the end of 2009. This followed the achievement of a fully contracted fleet across the Jetstream portfolios in 2008.
Three of the ATPs have been acquired by European Turboprop Management AB (ETM), which is part of the West Atlantic Group. The three aircraft (msns 2042, 2051 and 2054) are all E-Class bulk freighters and were delivered in December.
ETM’s acquisition of these three additional ATPFs ensures that its future capacity demands are met with aircraft in the fleet now and brings the group’s total ATP fleet to 43 aircraft.
The fourth aircraft is also an E-class bulk freighter (msn 2052) and has been acquired by Regional One Inc. of Miami, Florida. Regional One is a rapidly growing emerging lessor, specialising in the regional aircraft market for developing areas.
Having acquired some passenger ATPs from BAE Systems for onward lease in the middle of last year, Regional One determined that a freighter ATP also made an attractive diversification proposition to offer to its leasing customers. The aircraft was delivered at the end of December to the lessor.
BAE Systems Regional Aircraft provides its customers with managed solutions for aircraft portfolios, fleet support and engineering. In addition to a trading portfolio of over 200 aircraft, a proven track record in aircraft remarketing and lease management services and a broad base of aircraft support solutions, Regional Aircraft also provides engineering expertise for both commercial aircraft and defence platforms.
