cyclean

Lufthansa Technik AG has signed a Cyclean ® Engine Wash contract with Qantas, whereby engine cleaning will be carried out on CFM56-7  engines of the Qantas Boeing 737 fleet. The program began  successfully in January. Engine washing is initially taking place  exclusively in Melbourne, Australia

The engine wash is being carried out by 145 Aviation Services, part  of the Permagard Group. Lufthansa Technik commissioned this  Australian MRO company as service provider for Cyclean ® Engine Wash  in Melbourne at the start of 2016. 145 Aviation Services has been  operating a mobile Cyclean® system since then. The vehicle can also  be flexibly deployed at other locations in the Melbourne area.

“We are delighted to have won Qantas, Australia’s largest airline, as a customer for our Cyclean® Engine Wash on the fifth continent,” says Oliver C. Winter, Head of Engine Life Cycle Services. “Following this successful launch in Melbourne, we want to continually expand our  network of Cyclean® stations around the country.” Further stations  are already being planned for Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.

Lufthansa Technik and 145 Aviation Services are presenting the mobile Cyclean® Engine Wash equipment at this year’s Australian  International Airshow at Avalon Airport from 28 February to 05 March  in the outdoor grounds at the show.

Cyclean® Engine Wash is up to 70 percent quicker than convention  engine cleaning methods and can be carried out without restriction  anywhere on the airport site. The new engine wash can be used on all  contemporary engine models from the leading manufacturers General  Electric, Rolls-Royce, Pratt & Whitney, CFMI, and IAE. To date, more  than 80,000 engine washes have been performed worldwide for more than 40 airline customers using Cyclean® Engine Wash.

Lufthansa Technik: The Lufthansa Technik Group, with around 35 subsidiaries, is one of  the world’s leading providers of technical services for the aviation  industry. More than 25,000 people are employed in the company’s  internationally certified maintenance, production and development  operations. Lufthansa Technik’s range of products and services  encompasses the entire service spectrum for commercial and  VIP/special mission aircraft, engines, components and landing gear in the fields of digital fleet management, maintenance, repair,  overhaul, modification, fitting out and conversion, along with the  manufacture of innovative cabin products.
