CHARLOTTE, N.C., Jan. 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — UTC Aerospace Systems joins Airbus in celebrating the entry into service of the first A320neo. The Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Munich this week marks a significant milestone for commercial aviation. Airbus has reported that nearly 80 airlines have placed approximately 4,500 orders for the A320neo aircraft. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

This entry into service marks an exciting new chapter for UTC Aerospace Systems, a major supplier to the aircraft. Seven of the company’s eight businesses are providing advanced systems and controls for the A320neo and have been preparing for Airbus’s full scale production ramp up of the quieter, more fuel efficient, single-aisle aircraft.
